Jesus's birth in the relatively obscure town of Bethlehem reminds us that the values of this world and the values of the kingdom to come are at odds with each other.
Throughout the opening of Matthew's Gospel, he tells us that this or that event in the life of Jesus was done "to fulfill what was written by prophet" or something similar. In this Christmas sermon series, we're looking at each of these passages, in context, to be driven to worship the Christ who fulfills all the Father's promises.
